As an economist, I seek to understand how economic and public policies can affect the economy and people’s lives. With 15 years of professional experience, especially in Southeast Asia, I continue to learn about the determinants of good economic and public policies while relentlessly assessing their impacts on the economy and people’s living conditions.
I have international experience working with the United Nations (UN) in Cambodia, Indonesia and Viet Nam. I have led economic analysis and advised the UN Country Teams and the Governments on a wide range of economic and public policy issues including macroeconomic policies, fiscal policies, development finance, international trade, investment, energy, sustainability and social protection.
Most of my work is about building an evidence base to understand economic development issues and related policies and programmes. Drawing on the best possible analytical methods and tools, I present robust evidence to indicate the direction a policy or programme should take.
